God.You.Nothing.In.Between

Written by  Hannah Danica Batua

How will you describe IYC? Indescribable. Unexplainable. It is something that is simply beautiful and beyond any words. It’s so magnificent that you just end up with a smile at the thought of it. Well, how can I possibly describe what happened last September 23-24, 2011?

Those are not just ordinary dates on the calendar that you just cross out at the end of the day, because that was the date that the Lord met over 200 young people that gathered together for the very purpose of meeting God like never before.

VCA’s very first International Youth Conference has been attended by people from different outreach churches of VCA and even VCA Thailand. The youth have gathered together with hungry hearts, arms wide-open, and waiting for the Lord’s mighty move.

On that morning of the very first day, you will be welcomed by voices of over 200 people, erupting in praises for the Lord. It can be the only response when you meet with God. Cries of worship filled Robinsons Cinema 7, and by that moment, hearts were poured out to Him, lives redirected to His ways again, and the people just couldn’t have enough of that enormous presence of God. Cries upon cries for more of Jesus echoed all over the place, and of course, God answered prayers.

The Lord responded to prayers through the lives of Pastor Robert Almasco and Pastor Matthew Lutz. As they have taken the stage, they boldly spoken the words of Jesus and stricken the hearts of all young people with their straightforward answers about God. Moreover, wisdom filled the auditorium on the second day of IYC as our very own Senior Head Pastor Richard Conte talked about repentance and faith, and Bro. Norman Holmes, the director of Zion and other Bible Schools talked about intimacy with God.

What great revelations the Lord unveiled as they spoke and as the people received what the Holy Spirit had dealt with each one’s heart. The short 2-day conference was also a chance for some to make new friends and even have fellowship with one another. During the in-between-sessions of the workshops, IYC delegates had a chance to have fellowship with other young people from different churches.

For two days in IYC, God has truly surpassed all expectations and has done more than what we have asked for. Only God can do these things, no one else can.

May we then echo the words of Pastor Matthew Lutz that says, “The great works that God does in a place like this, must be stewarded well, we must be guarded well… and the way to do that is to make plans of staying in His Words.”
